Everything you need to keep track of your beer is free, and stays free. A subscription pays for analysis of it, and for keeping BackBeer running.
What stays free
Nothing on this list is ever moved behind a subscription. It is in Article 10 of the terms by name, so it is a promise you can hold us to.
- The three lists (Stock, Wish and Done), the three places (Fridge, Stash and Rest), and batches.
- Scanning, the shared catalog, adding to it, Caps and the Wall of Fame.
- Trading, groups, and sharing by invite code or by public link.
- Using the app offline without an account, and sync and backup with one.
- A yearly summary of your own collection.
- Your top 5 styles and your top 5 breweries.
- Your full history, and the export of all your data.
- The total number of views on your own public list.
- Seeing the roadmap.
- Support: deleting your account, asking for your data, reporting a bug, and a contact that works for everybody.
Not all of this exists yet. The yearly summary and the top 5 are still being built. What is written here is where they will be when they arrive: free.
What a subscription adds
A subscription pays for analysis, a badge, a voice on the roadmap and priority support. It does not touch the Wall of Fame, Caps or moderation: a subscription buys no place in the catalog, no rank and no faster review.
- The supporter badge, for as long as the subscription runs. Showing it is your choice and it is off until you switch it on.
- Detailed insights: charts and trends per day, week, month, quarter and year, and for a range of dates you pick.
- Every top style and top brewery, not only the top 5.
- Spending over time, from the prices you entered.
- Time in Rest: how long each batch has been lying there.
- Statistics for your public lists over time: views per period, views by country, and which beer on a list is looked at most.
- A voice on the roadmap: submitting ideas and voting on them.
- Priority support. Everybody keeps support. Subscribers go first.
The badge is in the app today. The rest is still being built, and it is listed here so you know what a subscription is for, not because it is all there.
What it costs
For a person, VAT included:

Lifetime is an introductory price: it is 30 EUR every day up to and including 31 December 2026, and 50 EUR from 1 January 2027. Somebody who buys it at 30 EUR pays nothing more.
Lifetime means for as long as BackBeer runs. It gets you everything a subscription gets you, for as long as we offer BackBeer, not for as long as you live. What a subscription includes may grow. What is on the free list above is never gated.
Where you pay
- In the app, through the App Store or Google Play, at the same prices. Paying, renewing, stopping and refunds follow Apple's or Google's rules.
- On this website, through Mollie, with iDEAL, Bancontact or a card. You sign in with your email address and pick an option. What you buy on the website works in the app, and the other way round.
Stopping
- You stop when you like. Nothing is charged after that, and what you paid for keeps working until the end of that period.
- Bought on this website as a consumer, you can change your mind within 14 days of the first payment and get everything back. This holds for lifetime too. For a purchase in the App Store or Google Play, their rules apply.
- A monthly charge that fails gets an email the same day, and what you paid for keeps working for 14 days while the payment is retried.
- If a price changes, subscribers hear it by email at least 30 days ahead. The new price applies from the next period, never to one you already paid.
- If a subscription renews by itself and you have not opened the app for a month, we email you that it is still running and how to stop it.

For a business
10 EUR a month or 100 EUR a year, excluding VAT, with an invoice. It is sold on this website only and never in the app. It gets you everything above, plus the business dashboard: your profile, your stock, and what people near you are looking for, shown only from five people upwards.
It cannot be bought yet. It waits on invoicing. Business accounts are still granted by hand, and today they cost nothing. If yours is one of them, it moves to a subscription only after we have said so well in advance, and you are never charged for anything you have not expressly agreed to. If a business subscription lapses, the published list is hidden and not deleted, and your profile and stock stay as they were. See For business.
